About Jessica Shapiro

Jessica Shapiro RDN, CDE/CDCES, CDN Specialties: Autoimmune Inflammation Nutrition Diabetes and Prediabetes Exercise & Sports Nutrition Gastrointestinal Digestive Health General Healthy Eating Guidance Heart & Cardiovascular Health Pregnancy & Postpartum Nutrition Sustainable Weight Loss Nutrition Patient Populations: Women, LGBTQIA+, Men, Neurodivergent Patients, Older adults, Patients with ADHD/ADD, Patients with ASD, Patients with depression, Patients with learning disabilities, Patients with PTSD/history of trauma About Jessica I wanted to find a career that I'd wake up every day excited about. I find nutrition science fascinating, and the desire to help and empower others to help themselves is an innate quality that I feel I possess. I aspire to spread the word of evidence-based nutrition truth! I earned my Master's in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics from New York University, where I also completed my Dietetics Internship. Get To Know Jessica Go-to morning beverage: Cold brew with pistachio milk (all year long, even in the midst of a New England winter). Favorite thing to purchase at the grocery store or farmer's market: My son has an obsession with apples. I can't seem to keep up with his apple consumption, so it's a must on every shopping excursion. Grocery shopping tip: Make sure to make a list and stick to it. Most of all, don't go hungry! Nutrition philosophy in a nutshell: 1) The foods that you eat are the instructions you are giving your body for it to perform. Fuel your body with the foods that will allow you to be your best self. 2) You can change your health trajectory starting with making one healthy choice. You have that power and the opportunity infinite times in your day. 3) Forget food regret and let go of food guilt. Free yourself from negative food feelings.
