Jill Kauffman, LP

Psychologist
CO
Hello. I'm Dr. Jill Kauffman. I work with adults who are challenged by anxiety, trauma, depression, grief, relationship issues, work challenges, or life transitions. My approach to therapy is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapies (CBT) and mindfulness strategies, but I also incorporate analytic approaches and humor in my work. I believe humor and levity are needed in therapy and in life. My extensive training includes Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and postdoctoral training at the National Center for PTSD, Boston Veterans Affairs. Two of my hobbies are Jungian psychology and theater improvisation. As such, these areas inform my work. For example, you may share your dreams in session if you would like. I worked in Community Mental Health for nearly 30 years and also at an Intensive Outpatient Program, as well as running my own practice. I have experience with a wide range of clients and mental health challenges including (but not limited to) psychosis, bipolar disorder, and the hair pulling disorders (currently known as Body Focused Repetitive Disorders). Remember, YOU are not a disorder or diagnosis - a disorder is something you may have but it's not you. At the present time I am offering remote sessions in the afternoons. Contact me so we can start your healing journey together!
