Psychiatrist
50 Tice Blvd, Ste 340, Woodcliff Lake, NJ
Seeing a psychiatrist for the first time can be scary, but I’m glad you’re taking the important first steps to prioritize your mental health. My name is Dr. Jingna Zhao, a board-certified psychiatrist and family medicine physician. I earned my Doctor of Medicine from the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center. I want to help you find the right specialist for your specific situation. Women’s Mental Health: Women often have their concerns brushed off and learn to internalize their struggles, missing out on important diagnoses and treatment opportunities. When you speak with a specialist in women’s mental health who has experienced these challenges firsthand, you can be confident your concerns will be taken seriously. I have personally experienced the grief, anger, and despair that come with infertility and recurrent miscarriages. This fuels my passion for helping other women understand that it is not their fault and that they will feel hope and joy again. Minority Mental Health: Many minority patients face additional barriers from family and cultural communities when seeking mental healthcare. This is compounded by systemic racism and conflicts between self-identity and perceived identity. Minority patients are also disproportionately diagnosed with more severe conditions or have their concerns dismissed due to implicit bias. Don’t risk being inaccurately labeled or told that something is normal for you when it is not. Seek assessment from someone who specializes in minority mental health. Nobody wants to rely on medications for life, which is why I am enthusiastic about integrating psychotherapy, behavioral modification, nutrition, and other alternative therapies into treatment.
