About Dr. Jiyo Shin
Dr. Jiyo Shin believes in serving our community by practicing family medicine. Good health is a a goal that we all share in order to achieve a rich, full life. Dr. Jiyo believes in partnering with her patients in a setting of open communication to achieve this goal. She earned her Doctor of Medicine from Chung-Ang University College of Medicine and speaks fluent Korean. She completed her residency training in Family Medicine at Emory University in Atlanta.
Based in Smyrna, GA, Dr. Jiyo is Board Certified in Family Medicine and has a special interest in preventive medicine, weight control, common dermatologic problems, women's health, diabetes, hypertension, and managing high cholesterol issues. I read a few reviews on Zocdoc and Wellstar website for Jiyo Shin. All the reviews were accurate, she listens and has great knowledge!!
The skin issue I had she was able to resolve it that 3 doctor's including 1 dermatologist could not resolve!
She also provided me a new inhaler that is a steroid and not a powder to help my severe asthma attacks I have had lately. Expensive but insurance covered a large chunk and my health and wellbeing is priceless.
Very thankful to have found a new primary care physician! I am new the area and the feedback on both sites were helpful and accurate.

Very unprofessional assistant called 30 minutes before my actual appointment to say they wasn’t taking any office appointments. I was already at the dr. Office when she called. They confirmed the appointment via email and sent a follow up text message.

Dr. Shin received my responses without judgment and had a sense of humor. She made me feel comfortable immediately & made sure I had everything I needed. Would definitely recommend. I noticed she had some acupuncture posters up in one of the rooms I was in. Would love to inquire about that with her.

Dr. Shin was very easy to talk to and I felt that she listened intently to what I was telling her. I felt like Dr. Shin spent a lot more time with me as opposed to other Doctors that I've seen and that is very important to me. The office staff and nurse were very friendly and helpful!

Dr. Shin is a wonderful Dr. She been taking care of me for about 5 or 6 yrs. I try to get the rest of family & friend to see her she is amazing she always looking out for my best interest and I have several problems she make sure I see who I need for different illness. Thanks! :)
