Adult Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
28 Valley Road, Office 139, Montclair, NJ
*After booking, you will receive a link via IntakeQ so you can complete required intake forms prior to your appointment* I’m a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner with a Master of Science in Nursing from Monmouth University. Over the years, I’ve worked across various mental health settings, but I’ve found the most fulfillment in outpatient care and emergency room crisis intervention. Outpatient work allows me to build lasting, supportive relationships with patients, while ER crisis care has taught me to be present in critical moments—offering clarity, compassion, and immediate support when it’s needed most. I specialize in treating mood and anxiety disorders through individualized medication management and therapy. I also support patients dealing with maternal mental health concerns, interpersonal stress, depression, COVID-related challenges, and safety planning. My experience extends to end-of-life care, gender affirmation, legal stressors, men’s mental health, sexual health, and transgender care. My approach is grounded in evidence-based practices and whole-person support. Depending on the individual's needs, I may assign “homework” between sessions, use integrative strategies, or incorporate nutritional counseling to enhance emotional well-being. What drives me most is creating a space where people feel seen, heard, and genuinely supported—especially those who have felt marginalized or overlooked in the mental health system. I’m passionate about reducing stigma and breaking down systemic barriers, particularly in diverse communities. Everyone deserves compassionate care that honors who they are and where they come from.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I strive to create a welcoming, supportive environment where you feel safe discussing whatever you're experiencing—whether it's day-to-day stress, identity-related challenges, physical health changes, or major life transitions. My approach is warm, collaborative, and centered on deep listening. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all care. Instead, we’ll work together to build a plan that feels most relevant and helpful to you. At times, that may involve focusing on symptom relief. At others, it might mean exploring the broader context of your emotional and physical well-being. I often suggest tools or insights for you to apply between sessions, and when appropriate, I incorporate guidance around nutrition, lifestyle, or other practical supports. I have experience working with a diverse range of individuals, including young adults, older adults, people of color, immigrants, first-generation Americans, and veterans. I also welcome individuals navigating gender identity, sexual health, or the emotional impacts of legal or medical transitions. Regardless of your background, my goal is for you to feel respected, understood, and empowered in our work together.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We’ll begin with a comprehensive intake to understand your mental health history, current challenges, and goals. Based on this, we’ll create a personalized care plan that may include therapy, medication management, or both. Your care will always center on what matters most to you and will be adjusted as your needs evolve. During our sessions, we may focus on mood, relationships, identity, or physical health—depending on what feels most relevant at the time. I’ll ask thoughtful questions, share observations, and encourage you to express yourself at your own pace. Between sessions, I may recommend strategies to try or help you explore ways to make everyday changes feel more manageable. If nutrition or health behaviors are affecting your mental well-being, we can address those areas as part of your care. Whether you’re coping with anxiety, navigating a major life transition, exploring gender identity, or seeking support around sexual health, weight, or legal stressors, I’m here to help you feel grounded and supported. My role is to be a steady, compassionate presence as we work toward your goals together.
