Joanne Patterson, APRN

Family Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
MD
I'm Dr. Joanne Patterson, a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner, and I built this practice for the people who have spent years being told they were "fine" while quietly struggling. So many of my patients are women who were never quite seen. If you're a woman or girl discovering late that you may be autistic or neurodivergent, you're not broken and you're not too much. You've simply been navigating a world that wasn't built for how your mind works, and often without a name for it. My approach is different in one important way: I lead with botanical medicine and carry the prescription pad. That means I take the whole of you seriously, your nervous system, your history, your hormones, your sleep, your life, and I use every tool that genuinely helps. Sometimes that's a thoughtful medication plan. Sometimes it's integrative and holistic support. Most often it's both, tailored to you rather than off a checklist. This is also work the wider world has noticed. I was honored as the 2025 American Psychiatric Nurses Association Nurse Innovator, have been featured by Black Enterprise and Medscape, and shared this approach on The Kelly Clarkson Show. I mention it not to impress you, but so you can feel confident you're in trusted, capable hands. I care deeply about women's and maternal mental health, from the overwhelm of a new or late diagnosis to the tender, disorienting seasons of pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond. You deserve care that validates what you're feeling instead of rushing to explain it away. Everything happens by telehealth, so you can be seen from your own space, on your own schedule, without a waiting room or a long drive. It's private, flexible, and built around real life. What patients tell me they feel here is finally heard. If any of this sounds like you, I'd be honored to help. Booking is simple, and the first step is just a conversation. Let's figure out what's really going on, and what will truly help you feel like yourself again.
