About Dr. Joel Pekow

*** This clinic does not accept self-pay patients. *** Joel Pekow, MD, specializes in the treatment of digestive disorders, with a particular focus on inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Dr. Pekow performs clinical and translational research investigations with a goal of preventing disease progression and improving response to therapy in patients with IBD. A major focus of this research is in providing better understanding as to why cancers develop in IBD patients. He hopes this knowledge will ultimately lead to improved risk assessment of patients with IBD and methods to prevent IBD-associated colon cancer. In order to best serve you, please remember to provide your unique member ID number on your insurance card for your appointment. If this is not provided, you may expect a call from our office to get that information prior to your appointment so we can verify your benefits. We look forward to seeing you.
