John W. Barrington, M.D., a native of California graduated from California State University, Fresno CA in Biology in 1996 before attending Medical School at UC Davis, Davis CA where he received his Doctor of Medicine in 2000. Dr. Barrington completed his residency at the University of North Carolina and a joint fellowship at one of the most prestigious joint centers in the country, Harvard-Massachusetts General Hospital, under Dr. William Harris in 2006.
John W. Barrington, M.D. focuses primarily on hip and knee reconstructive surgery and specializes in using less invasive surgical techniques. He offers hip surgery using the anterior supine approach, which helps patients recover faster with the least pain possible. Dr. Barrington is one of the leading speakers and teachers regarding surgical techniques, having taught more surgeons partial knee replacements than any other surgeon in North America.
Dr. Barrington is actively involved in research and surgical technique, and has been honored as a scientific presenter at the national meetings of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, and the Harvard Arthroplasty Course.
Dr. Barrington is married with three children and is an avid athlete. He is active in his local church, as well as MOVE MISSIONS!

I understand that a good doctor will spend the necessary time with a patient. Dr Barrington did this with me. I was disappointed that after the initial contact with the staff, I spent 30 minutes in the exam room with no updates. Just a simple update would have been great. I was in the office for about a total of 2 hours for about 20 minutes of actual patient contact.

An excellent appointment. I was concerned about possible hip issue . After having X-rays taken Dr. Barrington assured me hips are in good shape and that pain was caused by another source. I like this doctor very much and especially his upbeat and straightforward manner. I would recommend him highly to anyone needing advice on joint problems.

Very thorough exam. Improvement suggestions:
1) Would have appreciated being given a copy of musculoskeletal diagram doctor used.
2) I had list of questions, but was not given opportunity to ask them.
3) Was told I would be given a copy of notes since I wasn’t able to take any during exam. This did not happen.
