Getting to know John Dahunsi

I am a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Seeing the overlay of trauma, mental health and substance abuse across all ages, identities, races and religions. Medication management, ADHD, depression, anxiety/panic, bipolar, and insomnia, are just a few of my specialties. I have additional training in addictions to help serve as many patients as I can regardless of their diagnoses or comorbidities. I believe in treating mMy journey into psychiatric mental health care began with a deep understanding of how trauma, mental health challenges, and substance use are interconnected, touching the lives of people from all walks of life. I was driven to do more than just treat symptoms; I wanted to partner with my patients on a deeper, more personal level to help them create meaningful and lasting change. As a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I believe that true healing happens when we treat the whole person, not just a diagnosis. Our work together will be a partnership. My role is to provide high-quality, evidence-based care that is tailored specifically to you. I am dedicated to empowering you and your family with a clear understanding of your condition, your treatment options, and your overall path to wellness. While medication management is a core component of my practice, my expertise extends to creating comprehensive treatment plans for a range of conditions. Furthermore, with specialized training in addiction medicine, I am fully equipped to support individuals navigating complex diagnoses and co-occurring conditions in a safe, non-judgmental environment. Taking the first step can be the most challenging part of the journey, and I am here to support you when you are ready.

What should a new client know about working with you?

The initial sessions will serve as an introduction to the process, laying the groundwork for effective therapeutic dialogue and relationship building. Though familiarity and trust may take some time to develop, I pledge to make the journey less complicated and daunting. I manage, educate, and prescribe medications as needed.

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
