Getting to know John De Oca
I have been working in the relationship space as a mental health professional for several years. Starting my career as a registered nurse, my hidden pursuit of being a lifelong learner propelled me to further my education and become a triple board-certified advanced practice nurse with two specialties in family practice and psychiatry/mental health. I also earned my Doctor of Nursing Practice from Saint Peter's University. The beauty of nursing is that it is filled with vast opportunities that allowed me to explore myself, self-actualize, and truly decide the career path and life’s work that was best for me.
MY JOURNEY
After working in many traditional nursing roles, I ventured into the pharmaceutical industry with the goal of becoming an aesthetic nurse injector. I did just that for several years, but it ended up being severely unfulfilling. However, the initial intent was to help people feel better about themselves. This led to my transition into mental health.

I have worked with and studied under some of the most innovative coaches and therapists in the country and continue to incorporate new knowledge and innovations into my practice with clients. It is important to note that relationship expertise does not equate to perfection. We all make mistakes. We all need to grow. We all have things to work on and repair. Importantly, like everyone else, I am a human being experiencing many of the things my clients face in my own life. This is why I conscientiously work on my own development to achieve the best outcomes for myself, and I am passionate about doing the same for those who work with me. When I am not working to serve my clients and patients, I enjoy all the fall festivities, my teacup chihuahua Autumn, and I am a reality TV junkie.
