About Dr. John Gallagher

Dr. John F. Gallagher runs Long Island’s premier clinic for vein treatment services, helping patients manage varicose veins, spider veins, and various other vein issues. As part of Advanced Dermatology’s expanding capabilities, Dr. Gallagher’s innovative techniques relieve discomfort, improve appearance, and enhance venous health. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine, completed his General Surgery residency at New York Hospital, Cornell University Medical Center, and pursued a Vascular Surgery fellowship at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. For over 30 years, Dr. Gallagher has practiced General and Vascular Surgery, including patient care, resident training, and clinical research. He is a Board Certified General and Vascular Surgeon and a past President of the Eastern Long Island Chapter of the American College of Surgeons. For more than 15 years, he served as Director of Surgery at Southside Hospital in Bay Shore. Recently, Dr. Gallagher has focused his practice exclusively on treating venous disease. He conducts seminars and on-site training for physicians interested in venous disease and leads a clinical study comparing the effectiveness of laser treatment and sclerotherapy for spider veins. He emphasizes both the cosmetic and therapeutic benefits of vein treatment.
