Dr. Matthews was awarded the Kaleida Health and AANA Resident Scholarship Awards. He was assistant team doctor for UB Division 1 Football, Women’s Soccer, and Men’s and Women’s Basketball. Dr. Matthews completed a fellowship in orthopedic sports surgery at the prestigious Thomas Jefferson Rothman Institute, Philadelphia, PA. He was an assistant team physician for the Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies, Fliers and Saint Joseph’s University Division 1 team coverage. He has multiple primary author publications and national presentations in orthopedic sports surgery.
