About Dr. John Roxborough IV
I am a board-certified family medicine physician with a passion for helping patients achieve optimal health through preventive care, fitness-focused medicine, and metabolic health management. My practice takes a proactive approach to primary care, emphasizing early detection, lifestyle optimization, and personalized medical treatment plans.
In addition to traditional primary care services, I have a particular interest in men’s health, sports and fitness medicine, and medical weight loss. Many of the patients I work with are focused on improving their overall performance, energy levels, and long-term health. My goal is to help patients build sustainable habits while using evidence-based medical treatments to support their progress.
One of the core services offered in the practice is physician-guided medical weight loss, including the use of GLP-1 medications such as semaglutide and tirzepatide when appropriate. These treatments can be powerful tools to help patients improve metabolic health, reduce body fat, and lower their risk of conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease.
I enjoy working with individuals who want to take an active role in their health — whether that means losing weight, improving fitness, optimizing metabolic health, or maintaining peak performance as they age.
My approach is straightforward: listen carefully, treat the whole patient, and develop a plan that is realistic, sustainable, and tailored to each individual.

I had been seeing a primary care doctor whose office is located inside a newly constructed hospital that was relocated from my hometown that did not want the hospital to expand nor the attendant traffic increase. It is a very large religion-related hospital corporation that does not have the will to pick up the telephone when a patient wants to return a doctor's call. The bored-sounding female robot repeats "your call is very important to us" before she says, "there are nine calls ahead of you." I wanted to make a change in my medication. I could not book an appointment less than 90 days ahead of time. So, the new doctor runs his own clinic and would see me now instead of later. The hospital is run like a business instead of like a calling. Just what the financiers dreamed of.

This was my first visit to Dr. Roxborough . It was a very pleasant experience with the Dr as well as other staff at the Randolph Clinic practice. All are very professional and give attention to details. The Dr himself has a very direct and open attitude , is a good communicator and listener. His approach privileges adjustments to lifestyle than medication as much as possible.

Recommended. Pretty good experience overall. Pros: friendly and attentive staff, Dr. took the time to hear me, and provided great advice and recommended a lifestyle for my health. Cons: parking may be tricky in your first visit if you don’t know you are looking for a house on a busy street. The office is in a house and you may want to park on the side road, not on Randolph. To me the pros outweigh the cons, which won’t deter me from visiting again.

I had a good experience. The front desk staff were welcoming and professional. I was taken back when I realize it was a “home” styled office, but after the visit, I was content.
