Dr. Ryan is absolutely amazing and I wish I visited him sooner for my issue, I felt at ease and it felt like I was being listened to instead of just rushed out and diagnosed. The young woman at the front desk was on her own today, but she did her absolute best to juggle multiple patients, phone calls, door bell rings, along with my insurance approval and appointment for some further testing. I absolutely recommend this doctor and staff to anyone in need of a great ENT!

Dr. John Ryan graduated from St. Louis University Medical School, and then did a year of surgical internship as well as a year of medical residency at St. Luke's Hospital here in New York City. In addition, completed a year of surgical residency at the Columbia University division at Bellevue Hospital. After the above training, Dr. Ryan served as a U.S. Army surgeon with the NATO forces in Europe. Dr. Ryan continued his focus on Otolaryngology through his cancer (of the larynx) research at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York City and also completed his ENT-Head and Neck residency. Dr. Ryan is on staff at Lenox Hill Hospital and Mt. Sinai.
Dr. Ryan is Board Certified and offers 40 years of experience providing comprehensive ear, nose, and throat care with an emphasis on the non-surgical treatment of sinusitis and the use of Botox for cosmetic purposes as well as migraine and cluster headaches. Dr. Ryan is dedicated to providing each patient with excellent care.

This doctor did absolutely nothing for me. I came in with an ear issue, and he referred me to a ear specialist without even looking to the issue I was having. I though ear nose and throat specialists are specialist in EAR, nose and throat?! I wasn't even examined. I was in his office a total of 10 minutes, and that was mostly spend filling out paper work. I feel duped.

Dr. Ryan is adorable. While he absolutely took my issues seriously, he was able to make jokes as well, which I appreciate in a doctor, especially one who is looking far up into my nose. Very busy practice but lovely and competent reception staff!

I was referred to Dr. Ryan by my long time primary care physician. This was the first time I had seen him and I was exceptionally impresses by his attention and patience in explaining his diagnosis and choice of treatments to me. Furthermore, he called me on his own initiative two days later to follow up. Even physicians with whom I have long term relationships expect me to make the follow-up calls, so this was an exceptional unexpected bonus. Dr. Ryan is the kind of doctor that is becoming increasing difficult to find.

Unfortunately he didn't really explain what he was doing, looking for, possible diagnosis, etc. He started to perform a procedure without any notice as to what he was going to be doing. He was quick, but almost seemed rushed - like he just wanted me to get out.

Dr. Ryan and his team were speedy and efficient. He explained the prognosis and treatment quickly yet thoroughly and I left feeling confident in the way forward. Office is a bit hidden on the street when you first arrive but is nicely run.

I have some ear ache and infection. The doctor seems really impatient to listen to my questions and explanation of my issues and concerns. I tried to explain my history of itchiness of ear and problem of using ear bud, but the doctor tried to stop me a few times and just try to finish the visit ASAP in a rush. I would say he is lease patient doctor I have ever met. I choose him because I need an immediate appointment which is close to my office, but it seems his good review doesn't reflect the how the doctor is fro my experience.

I was not impressed with the doctor. He seemed friendly on the surface but I found his bedside manner lacking. His eyes glazed over as I spoke about my problem - he was almost condescending with his obvious lack of interest. I had ear wax accumulate over my eardrum which temporarily impacted my hearing. It was a simple case of removing the wax but the doctor said that it needed to soften before he removed it. Thankfully I was able to get an appointment with another doctor the very next morning who removed the wax very easily.
