Patient reviews for Dr. Norman Chan
Very thorough and incredibly transparent on costs. He won’t rush you into procedures or tests you do not need. He asks a lot of great questions to figure out what’s going on. He’s also really quick! I was in and out in 20-30min.
Had last minute-weekend availability and took the time with me to help me figure out what was going on. Had recommendations about places to go to get imaging done, and was considerate. Waited about 15 minutes, but only because he was taking his time with a previous patient, which I respect.
No wait time and he’s very thorough in his exam. The front desk team remembered me when I walked in the door, and it had been a year since my last visit. That was impressive!
He was the kindest and most articulate doctor I’ve ever been too.
What an excellent physician. Dr. Chan took the time to answer all my questions and provide insight that other ENT’s had not. He genuinely cares about his patients and will be completely honest with you in recommendations and insight. I definitely recommend Dr. Chan, he will appropriate the time you deserve for an appointment.
I saw Dr Chan after reading the rave reviews, hoping he could help me find a diagnosis for a slew of symptoms. He wanted me to do run of the mill treatments that I told him did not work previously with other ENTs. I went back when my symptoms worsened and new symptoms popped up and he did not let me explain what was going on and was very curt with the rest of the appointment. He doesn’t seem to look at things holistically and tries to treat the symptoms individually. If you’re looking for a doctor to help you figure out something that’s not a completely obvious diagnosis, he’s not your guy. Not to mention, the appointments are usually late (at least 30 min wait), very rushed when you actually get in, and the office is quite small. Was cool that he had hours on the weekend, but it was a pain to get there, and overall did not seem worth the time.
Extremely impressed that Dr Chan answered all my questions patiently and thoroughly. I am thrilled to make him my new ENT and will happily return
2nd time visiting this provider. I am a non-Chinese speaking American, but I could hear the Dr. speaking conversationally with two other patients before I was seen. He was superficially polite, and didn’t look me in the eyes when he spoke with me. He was slightly more polite this time because my European husband accompanied me, and he gave me slightly more anaesthetic before using the scope in my throat. The first time he did it, I want numb and it hurt like the dickens given I was sore already. This time there was no discomfort, so that was an improvement. He was diffident and offhand in commentary, recommendations, and address. I should also say, both my husband and I are overweight which he commented on, as my weight is a co-occurring issue related to my ENT concern. I left feeling resigned not to engage with providers who run cool, to cold in patient engagement essentials rather than warming, to warmest engagement.
He’s very easy to talk to and knowledgeable. He tries to make it less uncomfortable while operating some procedures (nostril scopes, for example).
Best ENT, very knowledgeable, friendly. Very good, highly recommend.
Dr.Chan the best...
Excellent doctor. I highly recommend him.
Dr. Chan was thoughtful and attentive. I was seen quickly and had a very positive experience.
Great fast visit. Immediately found a solution and took care of it same day. No wait in and out in 40 minutes.
He was nice and the wait was very short but the visit was a waste. I was referred to someone else. The entire point of me selecting a pediatric otolaryngologists was so he can be treated all at once.
Another A+ appointment. Again, perfect punctuality and very informative and thorough.
Dude was dope. Got there 1:20 for a 1:15 appointment, was seen at 1:38. He was super knowledgeable and chill. Put me at ease w my hypochondria. If you are going for throat related stuff be prepared to have a tube shoved into your nose and down your throat. Wasn’t expecting that, but they had free candy in the waiting area so it was cool.
This was one of the best doctor's visits I've ever had. The check-in process for new patients at Dr. Chan's office was very quick, and I saw the doctor nearly as soon as my paperwork was done. Dr. Chan was extremely professional and thorough. He reviewed my medical history, addressed the reason for my visit, and had me on the way within 20 minutes. Dr. Chan had a great manner and he addressed every question I had regarding my treatment. I highly recommend him!
Dr. Chan was very welcoming, very professional, very efficient, And he addressed my problem directly and expediently. It was all that Anyone could want from a doctor visit.
Super professional. Super knowledgeable and experienced. Super accommodating and understanding. Dr. Chan's examination and questioning were highly thorough and most thoughtful. He explained the science behind the condition and treatment he recommended. I trust him completely with my ear health. The receptionist was equally professional, accommodating, and kind beyond words. Visiting this office was an absolute pleasure.
He’s nice and kind.
Fantastic doctor. Asked good questions, listened carefully, was very complete, systematic, and thorough. Would definitely recommend.
nobody in the office smiled
Professional asked detailed questions
It was a normal visit. Seems like this doctor has great hours though since he was one of the few ENT that had hours on the weekend. Friendly doctor and short wait. He seemed knowledgeable.
Dr. Chan is a fantastic physician. He really takes the time to listen to you, and does a very comprehensive exam. He is extremely informative and very patient in explaining things to you.
Very professional. I felt like he was systematic and structured in how he approached my diagnosis. Wait time was very low.
No long wait time, and Dr Chan was very thorough and friendly. I would say one of the best Doctor visits i’ve had as an adult.
He was very kind and super helpful. I went there with jaw pain and he checked everything to let me know it was TMJ and that I had to go see a dentist but he was thorough and I walked away with my mind at ease about what my next steps should be.
Greatv doctor, very clean office, very thoughtful, thorough and knowledgeable
Dr. Chan explained everything really well and was pragmatic and reasonable with his recommendations (read: did not try to upsell unnecessary procedures).
I really liked Dr. Chan! He took my complaints seriously and listened to all of my symptoms. He was also very considerate and had a great bedside manner. The wait time wasn't too long, I got there early and it was just under 30 minutes before I was seen.
It was very pleasant dr and very informative
I've seen Dr. Chan a few times. He's always very thorough and kind, and listens to what I have to say. He discovered something new at my appointment this week and handled it with care and concern. I highly recommend him.
Polite reception, I was seen quickly, Dr. Chan was efficient and knowledgeable. He gave me another referral and sent me to a hearing loss Doctor and I was seen in the same day. He was very helpful.
Dr. Chan was wonderful and was able to help me figure out what was wrong and explain it to me very easily! Gave me two referrals on the spot to continue treatment, and I was able to make an emergency appointment for a Sunday morning on Saturday night! Thank you so much!
I had a good follow-up visit with him. I general, he listens and explains the cause of the symptom and treatment is effective.
The doctors office was clean, well appointed and comfortable. His staff were efficient and professional. Dr. was matter of fact, and not especially conversational or explanatory about his procedures. He explained my diagnosis very briefly which involves my voice box and provided a preventative eating guide. He said he observed damage to my vocal chords to make his diagnosis, but didn’t specify any more detail. I’m a classically trainer singer and noticed a register change but didn’t put it together. I had a follow up appt but declined to go. I felt he was competent, but his reserved manner which felt indifferent to me personally, prevented me from returning. I would say he’s quite competent technically, but he wasn’t particularly agreeable or forthcoming in a helpful way. Perhaps other patients are luckier than I was.
Dr. Chan the man
Quick and easy visit. Very punctual, helpful and would recommend to others!
Great doctor, no wait time, would recommend to others.
Wonderful guy. Very knowledgeable and gets you in and out. He answered all of my questions.
Very warm and helpful.
Highly recommend this doctor. Friendly, knowledgeable and quick.
Dr. Chan is professional and has great bedside manner. He helped me address my concerns quickly and described his findings, treatment options, and recommendations in a manner that was easy to understand. The wait time was minimal.
Very professional And to the point . I was in and out.
Node doctor, although didn’t address my concern.
Dr Chan was professional and thorough in his analysis. He explained the treatment processes and what could be expected in each step.
