Dr. Tozzi finished his orthopaedic residency at the State University of New York, Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, where he spent five years in orthopaedic training. After residency, he did a fellowship in a joint replacement/comprehensive arthritis program (CAP fellowship) at Rancho Los Amigos Hospital in Downey, California. Rancho Los Amigos Hospital is comprised of 200 acres of orthopaedic hospitals and rehabilitation facilities and is the largest orthopaedic rehabilitation facility in the world. Dr. Tozzi has been a founding member of Orthopaedic Institute of Central Jersey, along with Dr. Clint Ferenz, since 1989. He has fostered comprehensive and state of the art orthopaedic care which has blossomed to include 37 musculoskeletal specialists. Orthopaedic Institute of Central Jersey is now merged with Brielle Orthopaedics. Dr. Tozzi has performed thousands of joint replacement surgeries, which includes over 7,500 total joint arthroplasties, in his private practice. For the past 35 years, he has been a member of the Department of Orthopaedics at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. Formerly, Dr. Tozzi was the Chairman of the Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation Services for 20 years. Dr. Tozzi is Board-Certified and is a member of numerous societies. He is an Orthopaedic Surgeon with a subspecialty in joint replacement. Dr. Tozzi is also fluent in speaking Spanish. He is an active member of his community and is involved in many fundraisers, especially in support of The Alexandra Rose Tozzi Memorial Foundation, of which he is a founder. The foundation was created in honor of Dr. Tozzi’s daughter who was killed in a motor vehicle accident and whose organs were donated so that others may live.
