About Dr. Jon Meyerle
Dr. Meyerle founded Sylvan Dermatology after retiring from the U.S. Army in 2019, following over 20 years of service. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Yale University, completed his Dermatology residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, and pursued a Fellowship in Immunodermatology at Johns Hopkins University. He also holds a bachelor's degree from Princeton University. After retirement, he took a chance and started Sylvan Dermatology to practice medicine the way he had been trained. Medicine is about caring for people. Sylvan Dermatology is committed to that concept, and it drives everything we do.
We often have appointment times that are not displayed on ZocDoc, so please contact the office directly if you do not see a time that fits your needs.

Dr. Meyerle had great availability to see me for a last minute issue as a new patient. He listened carefully and considerately to all of my concerns and questions, conducted a thorough exam and communicated clearly on the diagnosis as well as the treatment plan (making sure I was comfortable with the plan and even taking the time to ensure the prescribed medication was in the best formulation for my preferences and lifestyle). The administrative staff was kind and helpful, the check in was easy and uncomplicated. Overall, great experience!

I had an amazing experience with Dr Meyerle and his nurse, Stacey. I booked my appt online, with no difficulty. Dr Meyerle was attentive and compassionate about my health concerns. I was most impressed with his attention to detail as he did a complete medical/physical history and medication reconciliation prior to prescribing a new medication that could potentially be harmful to me. It’s not often that providers pay this much attention to the new meds they prescribe their patients. You are definitely not just a “payment” when you see the provider. He even contacted one of my other providers in order to fully understand my history. I was in a lot of discomfort when arrived at Dr Meyerle’s office, but that was addressed right away and he explained what I could use home to remain comfortable. This provider definitely used a patient-centered approach to providing the best possible care. I will definitely return for follow-up care. I highly recommend Dr Meyerle for dermatology care, without reservation.

I had the best experience!!! We were taken right away, Dr. Meyerle is so incredibly classy, knowledgeable and straight to the point. I have never met a more educated and sophisticated doctor in my life. He treated my son with multiple symptoms in minutes!!! I wish every single doctor took their practice as seriously as he does. The office is located in literal suburban heaven, and his staff and himself are the most impressive people I have ever met!

Stacey, the receptionist was extremely friendly over the telephone and beyond accommodating at the office. She and the doctors work well together, resulting in a 5 star overall experience. I was able to book the same day and even was provided a sample of the medication until my prescription was filled. Dr. Meyerle was quickly able to identify the source of my adult acne, I would highly recommend this practice if you are looking for a dermatologist.

A great dermatologist who listened to all of my issues from the emergent to the less critical for an emergency appointment. Very thorough, knowledgable and considerate. Traveled over 1 hour to see him and it was well worth it. Most dermatologists push cosmetic procedures and products when I come to them with medical dermatology issues, that never happened here and it was like a breath of fresh air.
