He completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), followed by a fellowship in hip and knee replacement at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. Dr. Berliner is a recipient of the John Charnley Award, a national award presented annually by the Hip Society for the best innovative clinical research related to hip replacement. He has served as a visiting surgeon in Haiti and Nicaragua as a visiting surgeon and provides other volunteer medical services abroad. He is also a 2022 Castle Connolly Top Doctor. Dr. Berliner’s primary focus is to develop an individualized treatment plan to help patients return to their desired activity levels and regain a fulfilling quality of life.
