Hi! I am Dr. Jonathan Reinharth, a Clinical Psychologist with a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Hofstra University and over 14 years of experience. My mission is to provide scientific, recovery-oriented psychological tools to promote individual and community multicultural wellbeing. I offer groups, classes, and workshops that go beyond the standard structure of treatment. While there are many excellent tools and wonderful therapists, traditions both inside and outside the mental health system often promote misinformation, create stigma, and leave people feeling blamed, isolated, and misunderstood. Together, we can upend these practices and build better lives for ourselves, each other, and our communities. I have worked with people and families from a wide array of cultures, backgrounds, and challenges to foster meaningful growth. I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, a type of CBT, including behavioral tools like exposure. I also have personal and professional experience helping people and families with developmental disabilities. For many years, I organized and led a multi-professional OnTrackNY team to identify young people with psychosis, prevent disability, and empower them and their families. I have seen how well-meaning but dysfunctional systems can segregate, judge, and set up barriers to recovery. I have also felt the power of communities to overcome these obstacles. I hope to use my practice to help people look past their immediate distress and learn to thrive while building supportive, compassionate communities.
