“Dr. Tabia effectively addressed all the mental health concerns I felt was lacking from my PCP. He was very knowledgeable on how to address the source of my anxiety and suggested an excellent starting point of better medication, psychotherapy, and the benefits of physical/mental health exercises. I already feel more confidence in my treatment plan. If you’ve been struggling with ineffective treatment from other providers, I suggest you book with Dr. Tapia — you will not be disappointed.”

What should a new client know about working with you?

As your Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I prioritize creating a safe, non-judgmental space where you can openly express your concerns. My approach to care is collaborative; I believe in working together to develop a personalized treatment plan that fits your unique needs and life circumstances. I take an integrative approach to mental health, combining evidence-based practices with a deep understanding of how emotional, mental, and physical well-being intersect. Whether we’re addressing anxiety, depression, trauma, or any other issue, my goal is to equip you with the tools and strategies needed to foster resilience and improve your overall quality of life. What is your typical process for working with clients?

My typical process for working with clients is centered around collaboration, individualized care, and open communication. Here’s what you can expect: Initial Assessment: During our first meeting, we’ll spend time getting to know each other. I’ll ask about your medical and mental health history, current concerns, and goals for treatment. This assessment helps me gain a comprehensive understanding of your overall well-being—mentally, physically, and emotionally—so that I can develop a tailored approach. Collaborative Treatment Planning: Once I have a clear understanding of your situation, we’ll work together to create a treatment plan. I’ll explain all your options, including different therapies or lifestyle changes, and together we’ll decide on the most effective strategies. I prioritize evidence-based treatments, but I’m also open to integrating holistic approaches if they align with your preferences. Regular Check-ins and Adjustments: After our initial consultation, we’ll schedule regular follow-up sessions to review your progress. During these sessions, we’ll discuss any changes in your symptoms or concerns, and I’ll adjust the treatment plan if needed. It’s important to me that you feel empowered and comfortable providing feedback at every step of the process. Focus on Skills and Long-Term Coping: Alongside treatment, I aim to equip you with practical coping skills for managing stress, anxiety, or other mental health challenges on a day-to-day basis. I integrate cognitive-behavioral techniques, mindfulness, and other evidence-based practices into our sessions to help you build resilience. Open Communication and Support: Throughout the process, I encourage open dialogue. If you have any concerns or questions between sessions, I’m here to offer support. My goal is to provide a safe, nonjudgmental space for you to explore and work through your mental health journey.
