Getting to know Jonathan Wilson

I have been a therapist for over 15 years and genuinely love the work that I do. I received my Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Oklahoma State University in 2010 and my PhD in Medical Family Therapy from East Carolina University in 2014.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I am trained in a variety of therapeutic techniques including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, and Prepare/Enrich couples therapy. I am a person-centered therapist who primarily uses a CBT approach to help clients identify harmful cognitive and emotional patterns in their lives. I utilize evidence based self-guided treatments between sessions as well.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My greatest desire is for my clients to feel empowered, motivated, and supported in their work with me so they can reach their full potential of their best selves. I recognize that making the decision to go to therapy is difficult, and even frightening, for many people. I want my office to be a safe place for clients to reach and exceed their personal goals.
