Jose Ruiz, MD, graduated from Universidad Central del Caribe School of Medicine, Puerto Rico, in 1992 with a Doctor of Medicine degree. He completed his Residency in Psychiatry and Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Florida in Gainesville, finishing in 1997. Dr. Ruiz served in the Army for six years as a psychiatrist, with assignments in Korea, Germany, and Georgia. He joined his current group, Florida Behavioral Health (formerly Florida Psychiatric Associates), in 2003. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Ruiz sees patients aged 2 years and older. He views his role as a doctor as an opportunity to serve his patients and their families. He offers counseling from a Christian perspective to those patients who may choose such an approach.
