“Jose has been my doctor and takes care of my medication management for a few years now. He is always easy to talk to, asks clarifying questions and has changed the daily grind for me just by helping me navigate medications that work or don’t work with my body. I also would like to note that since Scott has been the face of their office management’s side, he has been quick to reply to my questions, is very fast at looking into what he can do to help when those annoying pharmacy filling issues happen, and has been a wonderful addition to Jose’s practice. I recommend Jose for anyone seeking a doctor that hears when you tell him your struggles and helps manage it accordingly, and actually have told even strangers in public, haha! 10/10 doctor and staff!”

I’m a board-certified nurse practitioner in both psychiatry and family medicine, with over 22 years of experience caring for patients across a wide range of settings—from hospitals to outpatient clinics. My approach blends medical expertise with a deep understanding of mental health, recognizing that true well-being means treating both mind and body together.
Early in my career as a family nurse practitioner, I saw firsthand how the connection between physical and mental health is often overlooked. That experience inspired me to pursue advanced psychiatric training, earning a post-graduate degree as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from the University of Health Sciences Center in Denver, and a master’s degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Northern Colorado.
At my private practice, NoCo New Beginnings, I provide thoughtful psychiatric evaluations and personalized medication management for children, teens, and adults. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, or other concerns, I’ll work with you to find a treatment plan that aligns with your goals and lifestyle. I’m fluent in both English and Spanish, and offer care in-person or via telehealth to patients across Colorado.
My patients often come to me feeling overwhelmed by symptoms or frustrated by long waitlists and confusing systems. My goal is to make mental health care accessible, compassionate, and effective—whether through insurance or simplified private-pay options with quicker access.
Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, racquetball, exercising, and spending time with my three children, friends, and family. I understand how hard it can be to ask for help, and I’m here to meet you with respect, patience, and a commitment to helping you feel better.
