“I had been to a different ENT practice and doctor previously and it was a terrible experience. Dr Derbyshire and the team at Vitale offered a much better one! The medical assistant was extremely personable and took time to listen to my concerns and properly relay them to the Dr. The Doctor reviewed my historical testing, did a thorough exam and offered me some conservative solutions as a starting point (which seemed a lot more reasonable than pushing for surgeries like my prior ENT.) I felt the Dr had my own goals in mind when coming up with a treatment plan. He also asked to see me back in a month for a follow up so we could continue to work the issue. Overall, I felt the Dr and the staff were caring and concerned. The admin staff at the front desk were also efficient. ”

About Dr. Joseph Derbyshire
Dr. Joseph Derbyshire, DO is board certified in ear, nose, throat, and facial plastic surgery. He began his academic career locally at the University of Tampa where he double majored in Chemistry and English. In addition, Dr. Derbyshire went on to receive a Master of Science degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Biomedical Engineering before turning his sights onto Medicine where he attended medical school in Knoxville, TN graduating in 2016.
He completed otolaryngology and facial plastic surgery residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center-Hamot, where he was voted Chief Resident in his final year. He was involved in multiple different research projects throughout his training with his latest article being published in the SAGE ENT Journal.
Dr. Derbyshire's passions include community-based medicine, staying current with advances in medical literature and surgical techniques, leading to optimal care for his patients.
Dr. Derbyshire enjoys spending time with his loving wife and son in his free time, as well as outdoor activities such as running, hiking, and golfing. He is an avid Jeopardy and Sunday New York Times crossword Fan.

Finally after two months of nasal congestion, runny nose and sore throat I had both a diagnosis and an Rx with clear instructions. Highly recommend this otolaryngologist.

Would definitely go back.. beautiful lobby but definitely needs a update on very dirty baseboards at front desk that stare you in the face as you sit in reception area...just a cleaning and small can of paint would make such a difference. Looks bad!

The office is a total game changer (don’t judge a book by its cover), there was a less than 4 minute wait time. The receptionist’s are so kind and treated us with the outmost respect and understanding. The scribes/nurses are also kind. The Doctor was very thorough and made my nine year old feel very comfortable.
You can tell everyone there just absolutely loves what they do.
