What should a new client know about working with you?

When you work with me, I focus on helping you slow things down, make sense of what you are experiencing, and move forward in a way that feels manageable and realistic. My style is practical, and I aim to create a supportive environment where you feel comfortable. Sessions are a place to talk openly, but also to learn concrete ways to cope, think differently, and respond more effectively to stress and difficult emotions. I pay close attention to how things are working in your real life and we make adjustments as needed. This approach is a good fit for people who are looking for more than a quick fix and want to understand patterns, improve day to day functioning, and feel more steady over time. You do not need to come in with a perfect story or clear answers. We work through it together at a pace that fits you.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first sessions focus on understanding what has been most challenging for you and what you would like to change. I take time to learn about your symptoms, personal history, and goals so we can arrive at a clear and thoughtful diagnosis. Treatment may include medication, therapy, or both, and I view them as working together. When medication is appropriate, we choose options carefully and adjust them based on how you are actually feeling. In therapy, sessions often focus on building skills and self-understanding, with medication supporting your ability to engage more fully in the work. Every individual is unique, so I aim to tailor treatment to what works best for you. I work with adults who value a collaborative approach. You are not simply given a prescription. You are an active partner in decisions about your care, and treatment is adjusted over time to fit your evolving needs.
