Getting to know Dr. Joseph Lynn
Finding a great psychiatrist can be difficult. Finding one who can see you soon can be even harder. I provide compassionate and personalized care when you need it most, striving to become a trusted partner in helping you achieve a life filled with joy and purpose. I treat both adults and young adults across a wide array of conditions, working with you to create an individualized treatment plan that may include therapy, lifestyle changes, and/or prescription medications.
Whether you are seeking help for the first time or looking for a new treatment provider, our approach will be collaborative-never forceful or dismissive. My patients are actively involved in their treatment plans because I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all practice of psychiatry.
I earned my Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the University of New England in Biddeford and completed my residency in Psychiatry at the State University of New York, Stony Brook. This training has equipped me to provide comprehensive and empathetic care tailored to your unique needs.
Prices may vary depending on the type of visit necessary. Please speak with me directly during your screening phone call about specific pricing. Note that I do not take insurance at my practice, which allows us to provide the best care possible. Sometimes insurance can be an obstacle in a patient's mental health care, and we want to ensure that decisions about your care are made with your best interests in mind. We do assist with the creation of superbills, which can help you maximize reimbursements if you have out-of-network benefits.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Wow, I’ve been seeing dr’s for mental health for a long time. I haven’t had such an in-depth evaluation in a long time. Dr. Lynn is kind, knowledgeable and very easy to speak to. I’m so glad I found him!

Dr. Lynn is an amazing psychiatrist and therapist. He may be one of the first doctors to speak to me like a person and not just a patient. He talked with me and not at me, and always laid out all of the options. His empathy and compassion helped me through a lot.

I have been seeing Dr. Lynn for about 2 years now and prior to him I had been with two other providers who I did not mesh well with. Dr. Lynn's approach helped me overcome issues I've been dealing with my whole life and I can finally say that I am doing the best I ever have. He is friendly and simply a great doctor and I can tell he actually cares about me doing well in life and does not just push medications. I would recommend Dr. Lynn to anyone.
