“I enjoy that even when I first met Josh he was respectful, asking what my pronouns are. He makes decisions regarding medication a collaborative effort, allowing the patient to make a choice instead of just, "take this, see you in 4 weeks". He takes time to understand your goals. He is knowlegable regarding mental health, medications, and possible side effects. I have already recommended him to others.”

Getting to know Joshua Burgett

Do you experience challenges with anxiety, sleep, or attention? I specialize in medication management for ADHD, anxiety and sleep. Go beyond feeling better, to getting better. I work with motivated individuals to achieve lasting, sustainable change utilizing a fusion of psychotherapy, lifestyle change, technology, and neuropharmacology. As each patient is unique with their own personal experience, background and goals, I develop individualized treatment plans using curated, evidence-based interventions to achieve the best possible outcomes. My initial interest in healthcare started in junior high during a career day when the nurse practitioners described themselves as the happiest and most satisfied of the professions. Growing up in the Midwest, I dreamed of seeing the coasts. I attended Yale University in Connecticut graduating with dual-specialties in psychiatry and medicine. Then I moved to California and began practicing outpatient, inpatient and emergency medicine and psychiatry. Wanting to make systemic change, I attended Stanford Law school and learned I found more satisfaction in patient care than legal briefs. My career expanded where I now serve as a legal medical expert, adjunct professor, and deputy medical director for an integrated health organization. I maintain a boutique clinical practice treating patients motivated to grow and flourish utilizing the best available treatments. (I do not see patients for therapy only.)

What should a new client know about working with you?

The first visit will consist of a thorough biopsychosocial assessment including your treatment history, preferences and goals We will start exploring your strengths, what's working, what isn't and what we can change. Each visit is an opportunity to build on previous progress for continued growth. Stressful life events and symptom recurrence are inevitable. We'll develop relapse prevention planning and enhance your ability to overcome future challenges. I utilize a variety of methods to identify the intervention combination that is right for each individual patient. Not every technique, tool, or medication may work right away. We'll find the treatment that works for you.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
