Adult Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
WA
Salutations! Anxiety and depression have impacted so many of us in profound ways. Navigating the path of our mental health can be as challenging and difficult as traversing stormy seas. It is this journey through rough waters that when we become overwhelmed, limited by our stressors, and struggle to cope through complicated and difficult experiences, that we all need extra support. My goal is to support you in your voyage through the unknown; to provide you with some of the tools you need to pilot your own ship towards your destination; to empower you to be your own captain. My aim is to learn about you, collaborate with you, and understand your goals and priorities. I specialize in assessment, medication management and support. I can also provide appropriate referral information to therapists and other care providers as we together come to understand your 'big picture’, to ensure your needs are addressed, holistically. I strive to provide high-level, high-quality care to those challenged by mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, ADHD, insomnia, and other challenging mental health situations.

What should a new client know about working with you?

An individual’s experience is like a journey, an expedition, a voyage. Each of us, on our own voyage, may encounter rough and stormy seas, calm and pristine waters, or sometimes even shipwreck. It is through rough, stormy and uncharted territory or when we have run aground when we are in need of the greatest supports. Our own internal ballast is what keeps us afloat, keeps us buoyant and balanced. At Ballast Mental Health, our aim is to enhance your awareness, and knowledge and provide you with tools. With these bolstered assess, we strive for buoyancy and balance. Ballast Mental Health empowers you to pilot your vessel.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Pre-First Visit: Complete a consultation request, including providing contact information, demographics, insurance information and complete pre-visit visit questionnaires and documents. Once your health insurance benefits have been verified, you will be prompted to follow set-up steps using the secure patient portal mobile app. Once complete, a first visit will be scheduled. First Visit: Initial visits are 60-minutes in length. This is an opportunity for me to get to know you, learn about your care priorities, expectations, and ask questions. Initial Visit Routine: Variable. Depending on your situation, treatment goals, and medication regimen, follow-up visits will be scheduled at intervals of weekly, every-other-week, or monthly. Communications with Ballast Mental Health: The secure patient portal mobile app will be the primary method of communication with your provider once care is established.
