About Dr. Joshua T. Mitgang
Joshua Mitgang, M.D., is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in the treatment of hand and upper extremity injuries, including sports-related conditions. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center, where he also completed his internship and residency in Orthopedic Surgery. Dr. Mitgang further advanced his expertise through a fellowship in Hand Surgery at New York University Langone Orthopedic Hospital.
The recipient of numerous awards and scholarships, he was named the Emanuel Kaplan Hand Surgery Fellow at the prestigious NYU/Hospital for Joint Diseases in New York City. Dr. Mitgang focuses on caring for patients with acute traumatic or sports-related hand and upper extremity injuries, providing both nonoperative and operative treatment of fractures and dislocations, finger and elbow joint replacement, as well as osteoporosis management.
A member of the Orlin & Cohen team since 2014, Dr. Mitgang also has extensive experience with minimally invasive hand surgery, including bladeless treatment of trigger fingers and Dupuytren's disease.

What is the best medical experience I've had in a very long time? I waited for less than five minutes. I was expected. I was seen right away. The staff was friendly. The doctor was kind and courteous. The doctor was incredibly patient. My issue was addressed immediately, and I walked out feeling better than I did when I walked in.

They ask you to arrive 15 minutes early, which I did. I then waited an additional 35 minutes to be seen, for less than 10 minutes with the doctor. Ridiculous! The office was not pleasant, very loud and had an old smell.
