She believes in helping others manage their symptoms and understanding how 'all the pieces fit together' so they are empowered to live a full rewarding life with the power of choice. She uses medication evaluation and management and limited therapeutic interventions such as: mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, trauma informed therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, and positive psychology/life coaching; with special attention to the effects of birth story, family dynamics and traumatic life experiences. Joy has studied at The Ohio State University, American University in D.C., University of Michigan, and Case Western Reserve University; and has an extensive background of research and teaching experiences. She is a self-proclaimed 'perpetual learner'!
