Hola! My name is Juan M Ramirez, a Spanish speaking Registered Dietitian and owner of Highview Nutrition. I graduated from the University of California, Davis in 2017 with a degree in Clinical Nutrition. Completed my Dietetic Internship from Cal Poly Pomona in 2021 and FINALLY passed the Registered Dietitian exam after 6 months of studying. I am a certified personal trainer with a background in functional movements. I started a private practice because I am passionate about helping hard working people improve their health through evidence based practices and individualized nutrition. My desire to help stems from being raised by two wonderful parents who worked 50+ hour work weeks to provide for me and my siblings. I saw first hand how their health deteriorated over the years working long hours so me and my siblings can have the opportunities that they couldn't have in their home country. My goal is to continue honoring my parents by helping give back to my community through my nutrition expertise. I am well educated and experienced in weight management, diabetes, pre-diabetes, high blood pressure, and behavior change. I consistently stay up to date on the most recent research on nutrition science and fitness. My approach varies person to person because I believe that everybody is unique. I am a great listener to your problems while at the same time delivering a direct message on how we can begin the process of improving your health through measurable metrics. Expect accountability from me each and every time. Fun facts: I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Both my parents come from small towns in Jalisco, Mexico where my ancestors have lived for over 200 years. I love weightlifting and did a bodybuilding show back in 2013. Some of my favorite Mexican dishes are aguachiles, pozole and birria. I make it from scratch with my wife every summer. In my spare time you can find me at the park with my daughter Aurelia and my wife, Lily.
