About Dr. Juliana Basko-Plluska

Dr. Basko is board-certified in Dermatology and Dermatopathology. She specializes in skin cancer detection and management as well as cosmetic procedures. She completed her undergraduate studies at the prestigious University of Chicago, where she graduated Suma Cum Laude in the top 1% of her class. She received her medical degree from the elite Harvard Medical School, followed by an internship in Internal Medicine at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Subsequently, she returned to the University of Chicago Hospitals, where she completed her residency in Dermatology, serving as Chief Resident during her last year, and fellowship in Dermatopathology.
Upon finishing her training, Dr. Basko remained on staff at the University of Chicago, where she now serves as a Clinical Associate, teaching young dermatologists how to best serve their future patients while utilizing cutting-edge technology.
Dr. Basko has published numerous book chapters and peer-reviewed papers as well as lectured at various nationwide conferences. She serves on the editorial board of several medical journals and on the University of Chicago Alumni Council of the Medical and Biological Sciences Alumni Association.
Dr. Basko specializes in Medical Dermatology (covering all ages from kids to adults), Cosmetic, & Surgical Dermatology. Her special interests include the study of moles & melanoma, skin cancer prevention & management, and autoimmune skin disorders. Dr. Basko's training in Dermatopathology enables her to have a more in-depth understanding of the various skin conditions which then leads to a more accurate diagnosis. Such skills set her apart from her peers and make Dr. Basko one of the most qualified dermatologists in the Naperville area.
