My name is Juliana Mutua. Am a psychiatric practitioner here at Durham NC. I see mental health patients/ drug addictions , behavioral challenges and other life challenges. patients. My patients are across the age span, including all. My journey started when i was a floor nurse in CRH teenager psychiatric word, after working there for over 5 years i decided to go back to school for my master's(PMHNP) then after that i went back for my Doctorate degree at the same university . In all my experience i have learned that caring is a way of life not anything we learn in school.
My priority is to provide compassionate, evidence-based mental health care tailored to your unique needs. I understand that reaching out for support takes courage, and I’m here to make sure you feel heard, respected, and supported—every step of the way. I specialize in assessing, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of mental health.
I create a safe, supportive space where you can be yourself without judgment. I’m here to listen, to guide, and to work alongside you as a partner in your mental health journey. Ms. Julie is the best doctor I've ever had! She's kind, compassionate and doesn't punish her patients by taking their medication when life happens on life's terms. I'm always looking forward to seeing her because I know I can be honest, be myself and relax around her. I wouldn't trade her for the world & it's safe to say I LOVE HER!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND MS. JULIE MUTUA!!!! ????

I love Dr. Julie she has a great " bed side " manor , she ALWAYS listens to me even if I have already told her she gives me great advice and has taken care of me both physically and many many many times mentally although she isn't there solely for mental health I wouldn't want to change Drs. I really would not know what to do with out her!!!
