Dr. Julie Bauserman, DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC

Adult Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
48N N 1100 E B, American Fork, UT
I have a special focus on supporting youth who have experienced trauma, as well as individuals and families navigating complex mental health challenges. My goal is to create a safe, compassionate space where healing and resilience can grow. I work with patients ranging in age from 5 to 65 and bring experience from both outpatient and day treatment settings. I earned my Doctor of Nursing Practice in Psychiatric Mental Health from the University of Utah in May 2024, but my healthcare journey began much earlier. Before becoming a registered nurse in 2009, I worked as a massage therapist and instructor. Since then, I’ve gained extensive experience across neurology, palliative care, peer support, telemetry, and public health, where I co-developed a harm reduction program and peer recovery support group. I also proudly served as a chief nurse in the Utah National Guard. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors, connecting with family and friends, and continuing to learn new ways to support healing. Please note: I am accepting new patients for ongoing medication management support. I do not provide therapy.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I believe mental health care works best when it’s collaborative and rooted in trust. My background in diverse areas of healthcare has taught me the importance of addressing the whole person—mind, body, and environment. Patients often tell me they appreciate my ability to listen without judgment and to provide care that feels supportive and empowering. One of the projects closest to my heart was conducting a needs assessment on anticipatory grief for caregivers of medically complex children. That experience deepened my commitment to helping families feel seen and supported in difficult times. More recently, I’ve expanded my work into psychedelic-assisted therapy, where I’ve witnessed the profound potential for transformation and healing.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I begin with a thorough evaluation to understand your history, current concerns, and priorities. From there, we develop a personalized plan that may include medication management, lifestyle strategies, and referrals for additional therapies. I look at factors such as diet, exercise, sleep, social support, and emotional health so that care feels comprehensive and sustainable. We’ll check in regularly and adjust treatment as needed, always working together to make sure the process feels supportive and effective. Above all, I consider it an honor to walk alongside you on your healing journey.

After scheduling your appointment, you will receive an email from Stella Mental Health (formerly Numinus) containing your intake paperwork. Please allow about 30 minutes to complete this form. Your responses will help your provider prepare for your upcoming appointment. All patients are required to complete the intake form 24 business hours before their appointment. You will receive a phone call from one of our dedicated Care Advocates, who can answer any questions you may have. Please be prepared to provide a credit card to keep on file for co-pays or cancellation fees. Late cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full intake appointment fee ($292). During your intake appointment, you’ll spend 60 minutes with your provider collaborating on a treatment plan tailored to your needs. If in-person treatments are recommended—such as TMS, Spravato, DSR SGB, or ketamine therapy—our care team will guide you through the process and ensure you feel supported every step of the way.
