Julie Davisson, PMHNP

Family Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
MD
I am a licensed psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with a Master's in Nursing from Marymount University. I also have experience seeing patients as a family nurse practitioner in private practice for several years. This background helps me understand the whole person. My main role is to prescribe psychiatric medications and to do so safely. Starting a psychiatric medication or changing to a new one can be daunting, but I aim to demystify much of that process and help you feel safe and fully informed about what to expect. If you feel you aren't ready, that's okay too-I meet you where you are. After you schedule with GROW, I will arrange a brief consultation to ensure I can meet your needs.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I will ask questions about your symptoms as well as your stressors. After the first session, we will arrive at a basic plan and working diagnosis. We will then schedule intermittent follow up visits until we arrive at a remission of symptoms. My goal is to have you into remission of symptoms in as short a time as possible. After that, I follow you periodically and we continue to assess your mood and how medications are working for you. My goal is to get you well and discharge you -- not keep you in treatment any longer than is needed. I want you well and also to teach you how to maintain that wellness!

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
