What should a new client know about working with you?

Starting therapy or psychiatric care can feel like a big step, and I want you to know that you're not alone in this process. My approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to your unique needs. From our first meeting, my priority is to create a safe, judgment-free space where you feel heard, respected, and understood. I take the time to get to know you—your challenges, goals, strengths, and preferences—so we can develop a care plan that truly fits you. Whether that includes talk therapy, medication management, or a combination of both, our work together will be rooted in trust, transparency, and evidence-based care. You don’t need to have everything figured out. Just showing up is a powerful first step. I’ll meet you where you are and walk alongside you as we work toward your emotional well-being and long-term mental health.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

When we first meet, the main goal is to get a clear, comprehensive picture of what’s been going on for you. That initial session—or sometimes the first couple—focuses on understanding your mental and physical health as a whole. I’ll ask about your current symptoms, medical history, any past mental health treatment, and aspects of your daily life like sleep, stress levels, and routines. We’ll also touch on your background—such as family, work, and relationships—to better understand any factors that might be influencing how you’re feeling. From there, if appropriate, I’ll work on a diagnosis and we’ll discuss the best path forward. That might include medication, therapy, or a combination of both, depending on your needs. I often refer clients for therapy as part of their treatment plan, and for some, our focus is more on medication management. My priority is to create a space where you feel safe, supported, and heard. Follow-up sessions are typically shorter—about 30 to 45 minutes—and are used to check in on your progress. We might talk about your mood, any side effects if you’re taking medication, or anything else that’s coming up for you. Everything is tailored to your needs, and we’ll adjust as we go to make sure the approach continues to work well for you. Currently, I DO NOT PRESCRIBE STIMULANTS, NARCOTICS, AND BENZODIAZEPINES VIA TELEHEALTH.
