Getting to know Julie Haggerty
Hello, I'm Julie. I'm a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, trained at the University of Illinois Chicago with a Master's in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing. I assist adults and children with mood and other mental health disorders. Through psychotherapy and, if needed, medication management, I work with patients to address key challenges in their lives. I believe in a holistic approach to treatment and provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment that allows you to feel more comfortable discussing your concerns, issues, and stressors. This, in turn, gives me the space to better understand your specific needs.
Are you constantly feeling sad, worried, afraid, or anxious? Our journey will include uncovering underlying factors, assessing your symptoms, and addressing coexisting conditions. I'm dedicated to helping you manage depression, anxiety, ADHD, or any other mental health conditions. Together, we'll create a personalized treatment plan using evidence-based approaches to manage your care effectively.

What is your typical process for working with clients?
My approach to treatment is characterized by a patient-centric philosophy, where I work in tandem with each individual to develop a personalized plan that addresses their needs and concerns. This involves incorporating the latest evidence-based practices in medication management and psychotherapy, as well as fostering open communication and collaboration with patients and their families. By doing so, I empower individuals to take an active role in their own healthcare through education and behavioral strategies.

Julie is so kind and very warm. We had our I take with her for my 14 year old daughter and she also really liked her. She seemed to know how to get better answers from my daughter than adult yes or no. Teenagers have their own ways or answering and though it may not be proper, doctors will be able to relate better when they know how to connect.

My daughter really likes her and immediately felt like she could trust her.
