I emphasize your strengths and tailor my approach to your unique needs to support the personal growth you’re striving for. While I work with individuals, couples, and families, much of my career has focused on helping children with behavioral and emotional difficulties, alongside parenting support, education, and coaching. I use—and teach—playful, positive methods to help children develop regulation, anger management, social skills, motivation, and emotional expression. Since parents have a vital impact, I often begin by working together on attuned listening skills and strategic parenting techniques that enhance parental effectiveness by building on the child’s natural desire to feel successful and please their parents. Play therapy is the treatment of choice for young children and an area in which I am particularly skilled. Children tend to feel immediately comfortable with my natural, playful style. Parents especially appreciate my direct yet caring approach, along with guidance for parenting children with challenging behavioral problems. I have also taught parenting classes.
