Dr. Justin W. Marson is a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs micrographic surgeon dedicated to the precise, compassionate treatment of skin cancer and complex dermatologic conditions. He completed his Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology fellowship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center, training in advanced techniques for removing skin cancer while preserving healthy skin and natural aesthetic. Dr. Marson earned his medical degree through Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School's combined BA/MD program, graduating Summa Cum Laude as a Presidential Scholar and Phi Beta Kappa member. He completed his dermatology residency at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn, NY, serving as Chief Resident and receiving the Outstanding Achievement in Research Award. A recognized voice in dermatologic research, Dr. Marson has authored more than 70 peer-reviewed publications spanning melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer epidemiology, Mohs surgery, teledermatology, acne and diet, rosacea and the microbiome, and dermatoses in patients with skin of color. His pioneering work applying LiDAR to dermatologic surgery earned national recognition from the American Academy of Dermatology Innovation Academy DermTank competition and a La Roche-Posay Young Investigator award. What sets Dr. Marson apart is his belief that skin cancer treatment begins long before the scalpel. His patient-centered approach personalizes each visit, taking time to explain diagnoses, answer questions, and guide patients with genuine care. He mentors residents and students at Rutgers and SUNY Downstate, bringing that same philosophy to the next generation of clinicians. Outside the clinic, Dr. Marson is a second-degree black belt in Taekwondo, accomplished baritone, and musical theater performer with over a decade of stage experience—bringing creativity and connection into everything he does.
