Qualifications and Experience
Dr. Watson is a skilled urologist based in Marietta and Hiram, GA. He graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.Sc in chemistry with a biochemistry specialization and received his medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine. He completed his internship in general surgery and residency in urology at Emory University. He then completed an Endourology Society approved Fellowship in Endourology (Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgery) at Eastern Virginia Medical School and is one of few fellowship-trained laparoscopic and robotic surgeons in the Atlanta metropolitan area. Dr. Watson has also been an Instructor for the Department of Urology at Eastern Virginia Medical School and currently serves on several committees for WellStar Health System at Kennestone hospital including: • Prostate cancer subcommittee • Urology representative for the WellStar Cancer Committee • Urology representative for the Kennestone Medical Care Evaluation Committee His clinical interests include: • Minimally invasive oncologic surgery for prostate, kidney, bladder and adrenal cancer • Urologic oncology • Kidney stone management and minimally invasive surgery • Benign prostatic hyperplasia (enlarged prostate) surgery and medical management • Minimally invasive surgery for female pelvic prolapse and incontinence • No-scalpel vasectomy He is a member of: • American Urological Association • Endourological Society • Medical Association of Georgia • Society for Robotic Urological Surgery He is a reviewer for the Journal of Endourology among others and has published his work in peer-reviewed journals (The Journal of Urology, Journal of Endourology, Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics).
