Family Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
ME
Hello, my name is Kabirat Oyenuga; you can call me Kay. I am a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and also utilize screening tools that can generate an accurate psychiatric diagnosis. I provide an accurate diagnosis and follow up with effective treatment plans with options. I utilize evidence-based practice, clinical guidelines, and patient preferences to achieve the best patient outcome. I have worked hard to get to where I am today and was almost at the point of being homeless with my children. I can relate to some of my patients facing challenges and struggles. Hope came from families, friends, colleagues, and my community. Hence, my repaying my community in kind is giving hope back to my patients. My approach to therapy is multidimensional. My go-to, therefore, is the humanistic approach to treatment that emphasizes self-awareness and self-acceptance. I therefore engage all my patients with empathy and positivity. Person-centered care is always at the forefront of my treatment approach, as I patiently listen to my patients and validate their feelings. When appropriate, I integrate a behavioral approach into my patient care and utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). I have treated patients from diverse groups, ethnicities, socio-economic backgrounds, and cultures. I see patients with different mental health diagnoses, such as Neurodevelopmental Disorders, substance abuse, Mood Disorders, Psychotic Disorders, Personality Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Eating Disorders, Trauma and stress-related Disorders. There is no one-size-fits-all fix for patients; different approaches address each patient's challenges.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider's self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan's benefits.
