Getting to know Kaeside Unachukwu
Kaeside is a Board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner who graduated summa cum laude from Texas A&M University and earned his Master’s degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. He has experience working with patients across the entire lifespan. While pursuing his degree, he volunteered at the Leukemia Clinic at MD Anderson Cancer Center and completed an externship there. He also contributed to volunteer projects with the Houston Food Bank and Vallbona Harris Health Clinic. Kaeside worked for three years in the medical psychiatric department at Ben Taub General Hospital, where he managed and treated patients with dual psychiatric and medical diagnoses. His dedication to serving the community led him to join Community Health Network in 2020, where he has provided care to individuals in the Spring and Nacogdoches County areas.
What should a new client know about working with you?
The goal of treatment is to reach remission, a full resolution of symptoms plus a full return to full function.
We are happy to work with you on rescheduling if necessary. Patient insurance member ID must be submitted on zocdoc at the time of booking an appointment, for verification of insurance benefits and eligibility.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
Expect a link with intake forms which includes practice policies, screening tools and consent forms.
Appointment is focused on getting history of illness, family, social and psychological history.
Kaeside does not prescribe controlled substances such as stimulants (e.g., Vyvanse, Adderall) or Benzodiazepines (e.g., Xanax, Klonopin), but can prescribe non-controlled alternatives that offer similar results.

Amazing experience! So understanding and thorough. Listened carefully and was calm and patient throughout the appointment. Was even patient with me when I couldn’t find the link to finish my registration and called me when I missed the link in my text messages to click on for the actual appointment. Made sure to go over any possible meds interactions and was just truly interested and caring. Highly recommend provider!
