About Dr. Kamal Wagle

Dr. Wagle has a background in family medicine, geriatrics, public health, health innovation, and implementation science. He earned his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from the Institute of Medicine, Tribhuvan University, completed his residency in Family Medicine and fellowship in Geriatrics at Baylor College of Medicine, and holds a Master's in Public Health from the University of Texas, Houston. He is passionate about being part of an age-friendly health system, healthy aging, and shared decision-making when it comes to his patients' plan of care. He is also passionate about IU Health Connected Care, where he leads a care team focused on the unique needs of adults on Medicare. Dr. Wagle is a Certified Medical Director (CMD) from the American Board of Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine (ABPLM) and is a fellow of the American Geriatrics Society (AGSF). He is also a member of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, is a faculty member at Indiana University School of Medicine, and has published articles on medication safety, caregiver education, and enhancing interdisciplinary teams. Dr. Wagle has been married for ten years and has two children. He enjoys reading, running, hiking, and biking.
