Marriage and Family Therapist
11185 Lake Blvd, Ste 209, Chisago City, MN
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist of Eastern European background, passionate about helping women live with confidence in their lives, relationships, and bodies. I hold a Master's in Counseling from the University of Wisconsin-Stout. I take on a respectful, curious, warm, and non-blaming approach, perceiving each client as the expert on their own life. My goal is to empower and guide you along the journey toward a healthier and stronger version of yourself by highlighting different perspectives, offering new insights, and providing resources. My approach is a blend of science, systemic, and holistic mind-body methods. I have a special interest and advanced training in women's health as well as Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders. I am also trained and certified in a trauma therapy called Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). My other areas of focus include general stress, anxiety, life transitions, relational stress, attachment, self-worth, body image, and perfectionism. I conduct client-centered sessions emphasizing the importance of the therapeutic relationship as one of the main elements of recovery and change. I believe empowering clients to gain hope, healing, self-awareness, and insight about themselves and their families can lead to personal growth and self-acceptance. While working together, you can expect to explore family history and ways in which current patterns and thoughts may be connected with cultural, generational, and societal experiences. When I am not seeing clients or doing therapy-related work, I am navigating the new adventure of being a mom, spending time with my 6-year-old Husky, browsing shops for crystals to add to my growing collection, learning more about REIKI and alternative holistic healing and wellness, listening to the “Morbid” podcast, and enjoying a good cup of coffee. Reach out today if you are ready to begin your journey toward wellness and self-discovery.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

What is individual therapy like: The first few sessions focus on getting to know each other. I believe one of the best predictors of success in therapy is the relationship between client and therapist and I want to make sure this is a fit for both of us. We will focus on what brought you to therapy as well as family dynamics and diving deeper into exploring your family history. We will focus on what exactly you want to get out of our time together and began our work there. I aim to create a space where you can feel safe, validated, supported, and encouraged. I have a different approach with each client as every person has different individualized needs and personalities. Therapy can be collaborative, engaging, surprising, and resourceful. You will learn more about yourself and be provided tools to help manage the many struggles life can throw at us. Don’t like something I said? Angry at something that happened between us in session or otherwise? Tell me! I *want* you to talk about how our relationship impacts you; most of us never learned how to intentionally and lovingly repair conflicts, and I want our relationship to be a place where safe rupture is possible.
