During high school, Kara often had the chance to accompany her mother, who is also a nurse, and watch some interesting surgeries at St. Bernadine's Hospital in San Bernardino. “It was fascinating, and that is what sparked my interest in nursing,” Kara comments, stating that nursing was definitely her calling in life. She earned her Bachelor's degree from Loma Linda University before joining the staff of The Laser Center at Contour Dermatology as a Nurse Practitioner in September 2008. “Medical dermatology is my focus at Contour, but I am also certified to work with lasers, perform Botox® injections and facial fillers, and assist Dr. Jochen with hair transplant surgeries. Since joining Contour, I've tried all the products, had some of the fillers, Botox®, peels, and undergone a few laser treatments, so I know the benefits firsthand and what to tell patients they can expect with various procedures and products. I want to provide a good service to patients and see them leave with a great experience and great results,” Kara explains. “I am thrilled to be part of the team at Contour. I love the energy at the office and the people. Dr. Jochen has been an amazing mentor and teacher to me, and I look forward to utilizing that knowledge to make a great contribution here.” A native of Redlands, Kara still lives in that community with her husband, Stephen, and their two boys. She spends most of her leisure time with her kids, but when she has the opportunity, this self-described “outdoorsy girl” loves mountain biking and running.
