About Karen Gentile
Hello fellow parents, it's great to meet you! I am a Mom to a toddler, a wife to a firefighter, and I still work in the hospital, so I totally get needing flexible care options that don't fit the typical 9am-5pm business hours. My goal is to listen carefully and give you and your child excellent care when your pediatrician is closed, booked, or you need more time than a standard 15-minute office visit. By meeting you virtually, you don't have to worry about bundling up your baby late at night, in bad weather, or finding a weekend appointment. I've got you covered! While I specialize in weight management, I have extensive experience in general pediatrics and can help with any concern you might have.
I earned my Master's in Pediatric Nursing from Texas Woman's University and my Bachelor's degree from Northern Illinois University. I've been a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner since 2010 and a Registered Nurse since 2002, and I've seen it all-from the ER to the ICU to primary care. I've worked all over the U.S. and even participated in mission trips in Haiti and Mexico! Over the past 13 years, I have developed multiple nutrition programs to help children overcome overweight, obesity, and underweight. I also love educating families, so I created a pediatric podcast for a previous employer, which can still be heard today!
I am licensed in Colorado, Illinois, and Texas, certified in BLS and PALS, and board certified by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board. Colorado is a full-practice authority state for NPs, which means I can diagnose, treat, and prescribe independently.
