Dr. Wheeler is a good pediatrician - she cares, is thorough, and listens. However, the front office staff is the big blemish on this practice. The front office personnel lack all empathy whatsoever and do not seem to understand that the patient population are KIDS, some of whom are sick! Each time I have been to the office the front desk staff (there are two women who are always there) make us feel like we are inconveniencing them. They have no common decency and should NOT be interacting with patients/customers! They will not even acknowledge me when I say "thank you" as I leave. I wonder if continuing to see Dr. Wheeler is worth the nasty experiences with the front office staff. As in the restaurant world, it does not matter how good the chef is if the host/hostess and waitstaff are rude and bad! That is how this practice is run and makes us feel, especially at times of vulnerability with an ill child and fatigued parent. The front office staff does not seem to have ever needed to raise or deal with little children at home. Everything else about the office is fine.
