I feel it is a privilege and an honor to care for a patient and their family during some of their darkest (and some of their best) moments. Everyone has their own story. When we spend time listening to what drives each person, then we have a chance to help meet their individual needs.
The role of a good primary care provider is to provide preventive care and teach healthy lifestyles, but also to identify and treat common physical and mental health conditions while working on building a strong rapport with each patient. This helps instill confidence and trust between us.
I earned my Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska. In my spare time, my wife, son, and I enjoy spending time camping and on sunny beaches as much as possible.

I would not recommend this physician. If you are struggling with mental illness related GI issues, she is not a safe person to be vulnerable and honest with. While Karen was respectful and calm throughout the session, she made assumptions and judgements without context and did not provide ANY care. She was dismissive and judgmental regarding my previous lack of access to healthcare, lack of documentation and previous treatment. She also intentionally obstructed a medical record based on personal opinions. If you have been under-resourced for any period of time due to mental illness, domestic abuse, or financial instability, she is not a physician who will help you in good faith. She will actively try to subvert her responsibility as a physician.
For any standard GI illnesses that do not have a psychosomatic element and if you are a financially stable and neurotypical individual, I believe she is competent. However, she lacks empathy for any challenging situations.
