About Karina Rico

My nutrition journey started in culinary school when I had my first nutrition class. I love food in general, and nutrition made me love it even more by seeing it with different eyes. I learned that the food you're eating can impact you for the rest of your life. After finishing culinary school, I pursued my Bachelor of Science in Nutrition at California State University, Los Angeles. Then I worked at a hospital as a diet clerk while completing my dietetic internship. I graduated from the University of Rhode Island with my Master of Science in Dietetics in 2021 and have worked as a dietitian since then. I am passionate about working with my clients to make sure they reach their nutrition goals. I have experience working with type 2 diabetes, hypertension, and obesity in both children and adults. I am empathetic to all my patients-I understand that life is hard sometimes, but with a little push, anything is possible. I like to hold my patients accountable to meet their goals. You can always tell me about your day, week, or month and know that I'm not here to judge but here to help you meet your health goals! A license is not required for this provider to see patients.
