About Dr. Karthik Gujja
Karthik Gujja, MD, MPH, is a board-certified physician specializing in general cardiology, interventional cardiology, and endovascular intervention. He currently treats patients at Long Island Heart & Vascular in Westbury, New York, and is the director of endovascular services and associate director of the endovascular center at New York Heart & Vascular Specialists.
Dr. Gujja graduated from India’s Mahadevappa Rampure Medical College in Gulbarga, Karnataka, in 2003. He later completed an internal medicine internship at Long Island College Hospital in Long Island, New York, as well as fellowships in cardiology and interventional cardiology at Beth Israel Medical Center in Boston. In addition to this comprehensive training, Dr. Gujja completed a third fellowship in endovascular intervention/peripheral at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York.
Highly skilled and educated, Dr. Gujja strives to provide his patients with the best possible care as a longtime cardiovascular disease specialist. Dr. Gujja has undergone extensive training to treat cardiovascular-related conditions, such as heart failure, heart attack, congenital heart problems, and coronary artery diseases.

As Dr.Guijja was reading my heart test results saying everything was normal, I asked if I could see the results. I have had traumatic experiences with Doctors telling me "everything is fine", then when I ask for a print out of my results and read them, I find multiple concerning diagnosis that they failed to mention. So now I simply ask doctors to show me the results, ask for a print out, and discuss what we see together for better understanding.
Anyway his response to me asking if I may see my results was "Do you have an education in Cardiology?". It was passive aggressive, and honestly made me nervous / uncomfortable. Then without showing me the results (paper still in his hand) he moved to the seat next to me and asked "what are you worried about, you're young". I asked "Why don't you want to show me the results?" To which he silently handed me the paper that revealed 3 leaky heart valves. Then he said "everybody has that, everybody has trace of leaky heart valves".
